Hi everyone! Greetings from Camila + Pythagoras 💛
We’ve had a busy start to 2026 🎉 I’ve been doing an art challenge called Birbfest, and I’m turning it into a cozy postcard series; one bird a day. There are so many gorgeous birds, and I’ve been having a blast imagining new little scenes for each one!
I’ve also been wondering… would anyone be interested in behind-the-scenes content? 🧐 I found a nifty new way to capture my process (besides screen recording or exporting Procreate timelapses), so if there’s enough interest, I’d love to start sharing short snippets of how I work.
Outside of Birbfest, I’ve been doing some Pokémon art studies. I’ve been playing Pokémon Z-A and saw paintings inside the game (seriously, check out the Lumiose Museum if you can, it’s so cool!). It inspired me to recreate one of the paintings. I haven’t posted it publicly yet, just shared it with friends in the Electric Sheep art Discord, but I’ll be adding it to my BMAC gallery soon.
Oh! I also finalized my stamp signature. I’ve been seeing more posts about art theft and people erasing signatures, so I wanted something a bit harder to remove. I went with a cute rubber-stamp look… and I’m also hiding a tiny “backup” mark in my work, just in case. Think: Where’s Pythagoras? (Waldo edition) hehe 🐯✨
Another new project: I’m starting to work on phone wallpapers! Sometimes I want something specific for my phone and can’t find it; so I thought, why not make my own? I’ll share updates here on BMAC (and on Bluesky too), and I’d love to have you along for the process.
And last little update: I’m working on a commission for a family member, which has been such a cool experience having someone want my art enough to commission me feels surreal. It definitely has me wondering if I might open commissions in the near future 👀💛
Also, if you’ve been working on anything lately, I’d love to hear what you’re making too. I really love when this space feels like a cozy little art corner we share 💛
That’s all for now, thanks for reading, and I hope your 2026 is off to a gentle start!
