I just recently at 37 years old found out I am on the Autism spectrum from a counsellor and a psychiatrist I see. Both told me they can't clinically diagnose me because they aren't specialists in this disorder. Turns out my work won't give me accomodations to help me without a clinical diagnosis and in Canada the only way to get that is to see a psychologist specializing in autism assessments for adults. After inquiring about it, turns out it's going to cost me 3300 dollars to get evaluated, just so that I can get the accommodations at my work to do my job better. I feel defeated. Anyone willing to help me fight this injustice?
