Conversations With Chances Writers Hub - Balancing Writers' Passion With Life Commitments

May 31, 2024

The Smart Decision Handbook author, Brian Kazungu who is also a Media Practitioner and a Consultant recently made a presentation on the Chances Writers Hub focussing on the topic Advantages of Online Presence To Writers/Authors.

The presentation was centered on creating an awareness on the various benefits which authors can get when they have an online footprint.

The presentation host, Chances Writers Hub is an authors development platform by Chances Inc, a Sales, Marketing and Book Publishing enterprise founded by Audrey Chirenje an award winning Author, Certified Coach, Speaker, MC, Moderator and Book Reviewer.

On the eve of the presentation, Brian had an author introduction interview in which he shares his journey as a writer and also talks about balancing the writers’ passion with other life commitments.

Chances Inc: Tell us about yourself?

Brian Kazungu: I am an Author, Media Practitioner, Entrepreneur, and a Consultant.

Chances Inc: What inspired you to become an Author?

Brian Kazungu: In my book — MANAGING YOUR GIFT — I give a hint on what inspires me to be an Author!

MANAGING YOUR GIFT — Page 13 — ‘Personally, despite having separately done Business, Information Technology and Journalism related studies; I derive utmost pleasure from being an author.

I just find it easy to write, and when I am not writing about something that is occupying my mind and heart, I feel that there is something missing and that gap only gets filled when I pour myself out through literature, which I believe is my other gift.’

Chances Inc: What have you learnt through writing?

Brian Kazungu: One of the best and biggest lessons which I learnt from being an author is that even though it takes a lot of discipline and commitment, writing in itself is therapeutic. It’s good for your mind and your body. It’s a rewarding exercise.

Chances Inc: Besides writing what else do you do?

Brian Kazungu: Besides being an author, I am a Media Practitioner, Entrepreneur and Consultant who is passionate about helping people make informed decisions and take informed action in the pursuit of their personal and corporate goals.

Chances Inc: What’s your writing process?

Brian Kazungu: I don’t follow a specific process when it comes to writing, but quite often, I write down some notes wherever I am so that I don’t forget some beautiful ideas which cross my mind when I am busy doing something else.

I usually firstly write randomly without caring about grammar etc. and then come back to edit my stuff later because I discovered that when I want to write a perfect piece from the start, I may not make much progress.

Chances Inc: What is the most difficult aspect about writing?

Brian Kazungu: My biggest challenge when it comes to writing is TIME. I believe I am too busy to write and yet still feel burdened with stuff in my head when I don’t write it down. Creating that balance can be quite challenging for me.

Chances Inc: Who are your favourite Authors and Role models?

Brian Kazungu: As someone who calls himself a Literature Ambassador, I believe that everyone who commits to start writing a book and finish it is my favourite author and role model because, I know it takes a lot to become a Published Author.

In my poetry anthology, GENERAL EMERITUS — WISDOM, MYSTERIES AND DARK SAYINGS, there is a poem titled GENERAL EMERITUS, THE AMBASSADOR OF LITERATURE.

Stanza 1

I am the messenger of literature.

I come from literature; I go to literature.

I live in literature, I represent literature.

I am General Emeritus, The Ambassador of Literature

Stanza 2

Literature is my heartbeat; literature is my upbeat

When there is a flaw in literature, I feel the pangs of pain.

But when literature smoothly flows, I can smell the rains of gain.

When the beauty of literature is embraced, life will look like a heavenly terrain.

Chances Inc: What angers/puzzles you the most in the world?

Brian Kazungu: I am very curious and passionately attached to learning about the mystery behind people’s decisions. This even prompted me to write a book titled — THE SMART DECISION HANDBOOK.

Chances Inc: Share your books done so far?

Brian Kazungu: I have so far written several books which are mostly found on online platforms such as Amazon and BuyMeACoffe.

Chances Inc: Parting words!!!

Brian Kazungu: I salute all the writers in this world. I wish that everyone on earth can write at least one book.

To those who are working on any literature project, please don’t give up.

I also wish that writers may have platforms and arrangements where they can support each other in various ways, i.e. Writers Support initiatives.
