🗽🕊️ The TL;DR Report #54: Wednesday, December 10, 2025

Dec 10, 2025

Hello and welcome, Friends! imageI am writing this with the faint ringing of jingle bells still in my ears. I just got back from watching my kid’s holiday concert at school. You know the drill... a hundred kids on risers, untucked shirts, and "new" holiday songs that somehow aren't as good as the old ones. And as usual, I noticed that only about half the kids were actually singing. The rest were mouthing the words, staring at the ceiling, or having full-blown side conversations.

It was hilarious, and honestly, I remember being exactly that way too. But it struck me: that "pretending to participate while actually spacing out" energy is cute when you are seven. It is significantly less cute when it is the strategy of the federal government. We are watching an administration that is mouthing the words of governance while staring blankly at a crisis. They are pretending to lead while actively engaging in petty feuds, launching pirate raids for distraction, and bragging about passing dementia screenings.

The kids on the risers have an excuse; they are just bored. The people in the White House have no excuse; they are dangerous. So, let’s tune out the background noise and look at who is actually singing and who is just lip-syncing. As the penguins would say: "Just smile and wave, boys. Smile and wave." Here is the situation report.

📉 The "Cognitive" Presidency:

The President is no longer just spinning the news; he is fighting a war against his own medical chart.

The 2 AM Rant: In a defensive diatribe that screams "insecurity," Trump posted a lengthy screed claiming he has "stopped Eight Wars" (false) and bragging that he has "ACED" three separate cognitive examinations. Healthy leaders do not take recurring dementia tests, nor do they threaten to charge the New York Times with "treason" for reporting on their health. This is a confession of weakness wrapped in a threat.

The Cannibalization of MAGA: The paranoia is turning inward. Trump launched a vicious attack on Marjorie Taylor Greene, rebranding her "Marjorie 'Traitor' Brown" and claiming she "went BAD" because she was "jilted" by him. The circle of trust is now a firing squad, and yesterday’s loyalists are today’s targets.

💸 The Economic Reality Check:

The "victimhood" narrative just collided with financial reality.

The Fed Cuts Rates: The Federal Reserve announced a 25 basis point rate cut, bringing the benchmark down to 3.5%-3.75%. This dismantles Trump’s conspiracy theory that the "Deep State" is keeping rates high to sabotage him. They are actively landing the plane, leaving him with no one to blame but himself.

The "Bonnie and Clyde" Projection: Desperate to reset the narrative after a failed rally, Trump compared Democrats to "Bonnie and Clyde" preaching about public safety. It is classic projection from a man whose administration is currently looting the institutional safeguards of the country.

🚢 The Distraction Machine:

When the domestic news gets bad, the administration looks for trouble abroad.

High Seas Heist: U.S. forces have seized a sanctioned Venezuelan oil tanker in open waters. Critics are calling it "piracy," and the timing... right in the middle of the Hegseth war crimes scandal and the bad polling... is suspicious. It looks less like enforcement and more like a desperate attempt to manufacture a "tough guy" headline.

Panic in The Hague: Trump officials are reportedly terrified that the International Criminal Court (ICC) will prosecute them for war crimes once their terms end. Their response? Threatening sanctions to force the ICC to grant them permanent immunity. They know what they have done, and they are scared.

🌊 The Blue Wave Rising:

While the White House flails, the opposition is racking up wins.

Miami Flips Blue: In a massive upset, Democrat Eileen Higgins won the Miami-Dade mayoral race, defeating Trump’s pick and flipping the office for the first time in 30 years. The GOP’s Florida fortress is showing cracks.

Swalwell Enters the Ring: In California, Representative Eric Swalwell has jumped into the Governor’s race, surging to 12% in early polls. He is running as a "fighter," signaling that Democrats want a leader who will throw punches, not just write memos.

🎙️ The Culture War:

Refusing to Kneel: Podcaster Jennifer Welch is facing a firestorm for calling Charlie Kirk an "unrepentant racist" and his widow a "grifter." She refused to participate in the forced beatification of a man who monetized hate, proving that truth-telling is still a revolutionary act.

That is the dispatch for today. I know the news can feel like a cacophony of bad notes sometimes... like a hundred kids singing in different keys. But if you listen closely to the stories out of Miami and California, you can hear the rhythm changing. The victories we are seeing aren't accidents; they are the result of people like you refusing to tune out, refusing to give up, and refusing to let the noise drown out the truth.

We are ending the year stronger than we started it. The cracks in the wall are visible, the opposition is finding its voice, and the "invincible" administration is terrified of everything from a rate cut to a court in The Hague. That is progress. That is momentum. And it is all happening because we decided to stick together on the risers and keep singing, even when the conductor walked off the stage.

Thank you for being here, for reading, and for caring enough to pay attention. You are the reason this community works, and you are the reason I have hope every single morning. Go find a little joy today... maybe even hum a holiday tune, off-key and loud. I will see you in the comments.
