You Post Too Much - Have you Heard/Said This?

Jan 21, 2024

You know I have heard this from people in the past, that I post too much. When they get onto their FB feed all they see is me. I never take this as a personal attack ... everyone is allowed to share their thoughts and opinions with me.

I am not everyone's cup of tea, and this is the internet, if you do not like what I post let me know what you want to hear more about or ya know, there's an unfriend or un-follow button. I am saying that from a space of love, by the way! I want everyone to have a space that they enjoy online.

I am confident in knowing that as I grow and change, so will my connections. That's how personal growth sometimes works and I'm not going got say it won't hurt if it's a cool person I've been connected with and talk personally with, but just like I live my life to show up better and be a better person who changes their friend groups and goals ...

I accept that other humans do this same thing and thus may fall off my online connections or in real life connections.

So, why is it that I tend to post frequently on social media platforms?

Not that anyone needs to feel like they have to explain this anyone, but I felt like this post was meant to be written today and so I am writing it.

Maybe you are out there being told that you post too much or maybe you're questioning if you ARE posting too much? Maybe you're having doubts as to if anyone really cares about what you have to share? Maybe you experience the self doubt that so many of us humans experience and these words came to me at at time when you just needed to hear them.

One thing about me is that I post and write when I'm drawn to do so. You and I aren't that different in our human capacity to feel as if what we are saying does not matter, but I am here to say it does matter.

The right people who need to see and hear what you're up to, will find you & will connect with you!

When I write on this site or my other blogs, it's because I'm being drawn to share something. When I post on social media platforms? It is because I am being drawn to post something.

  • It may be silly

  • It may be useful

  • It may be family fun

  • It may be whatever I feel like posting

  • It may have a purpose, and it may not

At the end of the day anything that I write or post online is 100% me. The silly, the ADHD ish brain, the chaos, the fun, the moments of WTF did you do that, Brandy. And everything in between.

I feel it's important to show up as yourself and then you get to find the joy in life that is being true to your SELF.

This is not to be confused with sharing EVERY THING online. That, is not something I do. We all deserve a little privacy in our personal lives.

It's such a freeing feeling and I aim to help others to get to a point where they feel more confident in showing up as who they are so that they can feel this joy that I feel more often than not, and to have the HOPE that I have in humanity even when it doesn't look so hopeful out there for many.

We can all live in joy.

We can all live in Hope.

Or you can live in some other way.

We all have a choice.

I applaud you for making a choice for YOU (and those in your fam unit)

You won't find me asking you why do you post negative things or scary news stories or other things that aren't similar to the way I post online .... so why would you ask me that question?

Oh! Before I forget, thank you to those who reached out this past month to tell me privately or on a social media post that by sharing what I do share when I post often, they are/were able to:

  • Feel motivated to do the "thing"

  • Feel less alone

  • Feel like they can relate to another person out there

  • Find the product option for a diet or lifestyle change their doctor said they need to adjust

And so many other things that YOU, my friends, have shared as a positive from what I post "all the time" on social media!

I commit to keep showing up and keep trying new things to live joyfully, and healthier in the mind and body every single day! I'll share my truthful journey, and please let me know if you have questions or if something I wrote or shared helped YOU, I love feeling like my "nonsense" online is helping someone somewhere.

Much love,

Brandy Ellen

P.S. When you reach out to me in a private conversation? It stays between us, unless you tell me otherwise. I am a huge advocate for building (not breaking) trust as I've been on both sides of that trust breaking scenario & my hope is to steer as clear as possible of being on either side of the "broken trust" part of humanity.
