Hand-carved and hand-printed mini lino print featuring a sea otter. 100% of proceeds from this print support the Monterey Bay Aquarium and their work in ocean conservation and research.
Background
The sea otter is one of those animals I’m always keeping an eye out for along California’s coast. They’re undeniably adorable, but they’re also an important part of healthy kelp forest ecosystems.
Growing up, I desperately wanted to be a marine biologist — until one fateful day when I got seasick for the first time, and somehow, that seemed to kick off a lifelong tendency toward motion sickness. Still, I remember visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium for the first time in my early teens and feeling completely inspired, despite my teenage angst. And, of course, I had to include a lil urchin for a pop of color in this fundraising print!
Details
Because each piece is made by hand, slight variations in ink coverage, texture, placement, and trimming are part of what makes every print unique. Each print features the same design as shown in the sample, but no two are exactly alike. Prints are packaged in penny sleeves and chipboard folders before mailing.
