World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5 every year, reflecting the awareness and attitude of people around the world towards environmental issues, expressing the aspiration and pursuit of a better environment, and being one of the main media for the United Nations to promote global environmental awareness, raise awareness and take action on environmental issues.
On June 5 every year, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) selects a member country to celebrate World Environment Day, publishes an annual report on the state of the environment and honors the "Global 500", and develops a "World Environment Day" based on the world's major environmental issues and environmental hotspots. The theme of World Environment Day is set according to the major environmental issues and environmental hotspots in the world in that year, which is generally called World Environment Protection Day.
On February 23, 2022, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MOE) announced the theme of the 2022 June 5th Environment Day, which is "Building a Clean and Beautiful World".
