What is your life made of?

Are you putting all the pieces together to build something truly special?

Each life has many individual elements—our life building blocks. Some of these elements may be incredible, but unless we create lives in which all those pieces fit together and work in harmony, our lives will be less than ideal—below their potential.

It’s not enough to have a balanced life, or good health, or a good job; it all has to add up to something bigger.

I’ve always had a deathly fear of the ordinary. I would literally wake up at night in a panic, worrying about it. How can I make my life special? What can I do to make my life magical?

I eventually came to the realization that an extraordinary life doesn’t just happen; it has to be made. It has to be carefully crafted.

But what is extraordinary? What is an extraordinary life, and will I know it when I see it?

The answer to these questions will be different for everyone.

For some, an extraordinary life would necessarily involve great adventures, personal triumph, or professional accolades. Others may have none of these but still have a life that is truly magical. Their magic might come from their relationships, through love, or from raising their children.

My name is Pete Wiley. I play music, I love baseball, and I’m very interested in how to live a full, rich, and happy life. I’ve thought about it a lot and I’ve come to some interesting conclusions.

These posts all tackle questions I have faced, thought about, or struggled with. I don’t pretend to have all the right answers, but maybe these thoughts will help you find those answers yourself.
