The short answer is YES, I have created a template for screenwriting that is very similar to the one I use for most of my scripts in MS Word. The LibreOffice one is not quite as powerful, but close. So, if you do not have the means to buy MS Office and you just want to write spec scripts, then LibreOffice is a viable option since it is open source and free to all. Check out the template below.
You can use scene numbers if you want while working, then turn them off when you shop your script around since scene numbers are a no no for a spec script. There is also an outline function that embeds your notes for each scene right into the script scene narrative, and you "peek" at your notes when needed, and turn them off when the outline is no longer required. There is a navigation pane, script elements pane, automated more and continued tags for dialogue that breaks across pages, and more features to make writing a screenplay in LibreOffice Writer a breeze.
In the not so distant future, I plan on doing a video, or videos, on what this baby can do and how to build it. Also, I think it will likely be sold on this site for a nominal fee if you don't want to mess with the technical stuff. Let me if you have questions or comments, would love to hear from others.
