hud
worked on the hl1 style hud, slight tweaks but mostly about re-adding freezecam and picked up weapon text, less need to hide parts of clips with less finished hud parts. might update the version on gamebanana later (after video or some time after this post). still lots unfinished in hud but work on as i go/when needed for video.
tf2 project template
making my tf2 template folder/project file structure easier to navigate and imported some previously made effects from older videos instead of importing every time. previous projects help inform decisions.
lag?
i recorded the main first person footage from my chosen demos (not the camera angles yet, didn't do edit yet). they seem bit laggy, will have to do some tests to compare OBS vs jpeg in-game render, may have to return to slower capture method. maybe pyro is more resource intensive or something else is lagging (too many processes using memory?) or demo itself has lag baked in or could be matter of just re-recording the demo until there is no lag. whatever it is i want the footage smooth.
if i do need to revert back to the jpeg method, the little hud man (bottom-right third-person model) has to go because he shakes uncontrollably with this method. would have to replace the lack of little man with static sfm image render of pyro/drawing/animated mimic of the hud with sfm - would look similar but would have to manually edit each weapon swap.
but before this, will be testing to decide/re-confirm viability of fast OBS screen capture vs slow jpeg image sequence in-game render.
