TF2:
tf2's recent updates from 2023-07-25 made the game much slower to load in servers and also demos. around 3-5x slower for demo (or server) to load in.
however, the old version of tf2 i use for older version demos still retains the previously faster load speed when recording the old demos for the videos. if left unfixed, less encouraging to work with/create demos past the aforementioned date.
currently (2023-08-16), most of my demos are before that date. this will become more relevant the more i exhaust my old demo collection as it impacts video production efficiency for the newer demos since they take more to time load for playback.wind down from last project, sorted loose uncategorized demos (easier to further sort/curate for final video when in category folders)
looking at a less niche frag movie to make, more to do with the class than something like a cliff, will update when more progress, easier to explain when did action.
Non-TF2:
all uploads for all my channels shared here when they happen, more updates for bigger projects
Upload rate:
Summary: whatever upload rate I mentioned is subject to fluctuation, check here for updates
Mentioned "1-2 TF2 videos a month, will grow my other channels too along the way" in a youtube post, tried word in a less strict way but wanted to have consistent goal with room to not be bound by TF2 alone. retrospect, sounds more unrealistic, especially settling into new pipeline for tf2 videos:
i see some pace drops, despite focusing mostly on TF2 with little attention for the other channels. last 2 videos were especially more technical to make, trying to go further with the videos with more edits/animations/outros/thumbnails/edits of the music, "delaying" the video when compared to previous paces when i could make tf2 video within month or week. experience over time should help with the pace, but more concerned about making a good full upload; finished product + using/expanding other skills
find it hard to give solid number to list publicly like "X uploads every month", maybe i never needed to, but i want to do this consistently for a long time. you will see whether i'm able to do this consistently anyway, hopefully there's no misleading. if you donate based on any statements/advertised upload rate, look instead to the video page for a feel for actual upload rate and video quality and adjust that amount to something more appropriate to you.
currently focusing lots on TF2 channel but will come a time where i feel skilled enough to make bigger video for non-TF2 channel, big enough to give updates and channel supporter in credits.
even if other channels don't go big, especially the "main" ones like the animation channel, want to give good try when i do.
updates will be here throughout project, sometimes under paywall if reluctant to share, sometimes delay if i feel more confident doing some part for the video first before updating
