Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. Psalm 42:11 NIV

Before you begin, I highly suggest that you take at least 5 minute break to have a visual of your life balance so you can be able to relate as you follow along the benefits of writing to our mental health.

Done? Yey! You are awesome! Let's continue...

Below is my life balance at the moment of this writing.
I highlighted (red circle) my Emotional Health and Mental Health as our example (which is a great one because it's doesn't look that great to be honest).

Now (probably we have the same question), what can I do to help improve my mental health condition?

But before we dive in to some science-based information, let me just share quickly about my personal thoughts based from the Bible - that writing down our thoughts can help us heal from any kinds of mental health issues.

The Bible itself is written. But what I would like to emphasize is how the way King David wrote most of the book of Psalms. One great example is the passage above where he wrote it like talking to himself and assessing the condition of his soul yet ending in healing.

So to add more information, I made some research about writing or journaling (because I am not a medical professional) with some clinical facts and organized them for you.

Here are 7 Health Benefits of Journaling (medically reviewed):

  1. Reduces stress

  2. Calms anxiety

  3. Relieves depression

  4. Improves memory

  5. Strengthens immune system

  6. Increases optimism

  7. Helps to cope with trauma

Now that we know that writing is very helpful for our mental health and also to our emotional and physical health, the next question is...

How can Biblebase help us with our writing journey?

biblebase.co is originally designed with mental health in mind. So once you are in your Dashboard page, just click the Mental Health section on the left and it will open the apps related to mental health.
Once done, you should be able to see something like this image below.
Open the Daily Devotion app and it will show you all the articles you've written once you started writing. So what are you waiting for? 😉
But wait! To start writing your devotion, just click the Write Devotion in blue button right up top and it will open up the proper writing area like the image below.
Lastly, just fill up the form and click Publish and you are done.

But here's the most important part

Writing for the sake of writing is easy.

But we at Biblebase firmly believe that reading the Bible (Word of God) and meditating on it first before writing down our thoughts can bring the healing power and also success in our lives as promised in Joshua 1:8.

That's why we added a special section for the Bible verse and we hope that our content will be a reflection of the passage in relation to the current situation of our lives.

Receive your healing as you start writing down your devotions! 🙏🏻
