About Benoît
My name is Benoît. Since the late 1990s I’ve been making images: photography, video, installation. They’ve travelled — Toronto, Tallinn, Lyon, Vancouver — but they always come back to the same place: a gaze held on something passing, and the wish to share it.
I also climb. Climbing taught me one simple thing: nobody goes up alone. You move because the group is down below m.
What I make is free to access, and I want it to stay that way. But the real cost isn’t gear — it’s time. Waiting for the right light, recutting a sequence thirty times, answering a message, walking someone through their first steps. Every coffee you buy me is an hour given back to that work.
A coffee costs few euros. It’s also a hand on the rope.
Thank you for being here. Really.
