Time is of the essence and I was running out of time to for this whimsical landscape acrylic painting tutorial. So I cheated! Only a little. I deliberately painted my subject looking away from our point of view as it's much easier to paint hair rather than messing around with facial features etc. I also cheated a little on her feet... Yes I had envisioned my subject walking or standing on a little trail looking out over a hillside full of beautiful flowers on a lovely sunny or cloudy day? Well there is a Sun in there and some clouds to add to the whimsical feel but as I was running out of time I decided to make a few changes during the filming of this little tutorial and I hope it encourages you to realise that there are no rules. Sometimes shortcuts are needed to achieve our goals rather than throwing the whole thing out and starting over. There is usually an out and so with this I decided to scrap the trail idea and just go with my subject picking flowers in the long luscious grass picking flowers. I still managed to fulfil my idea just slightly different to how I had planned which is always fun. I had definitely had my fair share of challenges with this painting so with that said why not see for yourself and I truly hope you get something out of this video.
