I've been teaching Mandarin to international learners for 17+ years. I'm CTCSOL certified, a 4.7★ Amazon author, and I've helped thousands of students go from "nǐ hǎo" to confidently navigating real conversations in China.
But here's what makes my teaching different: I don't just teach from a textbook — I take you into real China.
I've lived in Guilin, one of China's most beautiful cities. I've worked as a part-time English-speaking tour guide since 2006. I still personally lead 3–5 foreign tour groups through Guilin every year. I know what foreigners struggle with when they actually set foot in China — because I've watched it happen, firsthand, for two decades.
Many of my students are business professionals dealing with China. I've accompanied them to factories in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, walked trade show floors at the Canton Fair, helped them recruit Chinese staff, source suppliers, conduct market research, and even shop on Taobao. Before teaching, I worked at Global Sources — one of the world's leading international trade platforms. So when I teach business Chinese, it's not theory. It's field-tested.
My philosophy is simple: you learn Chinese best when it's real.
