Around March 2020, as soon as the pandemic and the lock-in started around these parts, a radio project started to take shape with a couple of friends, and we began to call on more friends to release mixtapes and dj sets weekly on a regular basis. It occurred to me to contribute to this one, since I was (and am) so caught up in future funk. At the time it was released via Mixcloud and Facebook Live, but the project was soon put on hiatus to prioritize different things (which today gave rise among other things to the new stage of Nonlinear Academy).
In the middle of 2021 I remembered this mixtape and thinking about how it quickly fell into oblivion with the previous project, I set out to bring it back in the form of a youtube video (Inspired by videos like Squad Goals, which was one of those that first introduced me to Future Funk a few years ago).
One processed anime clip (Urusei Yatsura, Ep 159), one new name and one thumbnail later, I find that they've already listened to it about 70,000 times and leave comments on how much they like it and how they use it for work, skating, studying, etc.
And that's what makes me most happy. That it's useful to someone, that hopefully it has helped them to have a better day. Test passed :)
MID 2024 EDIT: The video was finally taken down for copyright infringement at 750,000 views ( due to the video clip, not the music). After a few months down, I decided to re-upload it with a reworked and more dynamic video track. Here it is.

Por Marzo del 2020, apenas comenzó la pandemia y el encierro por estos lados, con un par de amigos comenzó a tomar forma un proyecto de radio, para el que comenzamos a convocar a más amigos para lanzar mixtapes y dj sets semanales de forma regular. Se me ocurrió contribuir con éste, ya que estaba (y estoy) tan atrapado en el future funk. En ese momento se lanzó por Mixcloud y Facebook Live, pero el proyecto pronto fue puesto en pausa para dar prioridad a distintas cosas (que hoy dieron lugar entre otras cosas a la nueva etapa de Academia No Lineal).
A mediados del 2021 me acordé de este mixtape y pensando en cómo cayó rápidamente en el olvido con el proyecto anterior, me propuse traerlo de vuelta en la forma de video de youtube (Inspirado en videos como el Squad Goals, que fue uno de los que en primer lugar me introdujeron al Future Funk hace algunos años).
Un clip de animé procesado (Urusei Yatsura, Ep 159), un nuevo nombre y una miniatura después, me encuentro con que ya lo han escuchado alrededor de 70.000 veces y dejan comentarios de lo mucho que les gusta y cómo lo usan para trabajar, patinar, estudiar, etc.
Y eso es lo que más me alegra. Que le sirva a alguien, que ojalá le haya ayudado a tener un mejor día. Prueba superada :)
MID 2024 EDIT: El video finalmente fue bajado por infracción a derechos de autor (el clip de video, no la música). Alcanzó las 750.000 visitas!!! Después de unos meses abajo, decidí re-subirlo con una pista de video re-trabajada y mas dinámica. Aquí se los dejo.
