The Bald Who Whispered Death

Part Two – The Shine Returns (Comedy).

Dear Readers,

They thought I was dead.

Burned in my own lair. Buried beneath the wreckage of the floating bald-shaped casino. My name was wiped off MI6’s red alert lists, the files marked “Deceased,” and Bond? Bond toasted to my memory with some overpriced scotch, probably on a yacht full of women who couldn't spell "existential dread."

But I was not dead.

I was reinventing.

I went underground, literally. Somewhere deep beneath the frozen silence of Norway’s fjords, I built a new base. Not shaped like my head this time (lesson learned). This one was minimalist. Cold. Sharp. All steel and mirrors. Like my soul on a Tuesday.

And I went by a new name now.

Vanta.
Short for Vantablack. The darkest material known to man. Even light gives up in front of it, like Bond’s logic.

But behind the name, the same mission remained: domination through glare, control through grooming, and vengeance through unexpected scalp-based science.

While the world moved on, I perfected my next masterpiece, The Halo Array.

What is it, you ask?

Imagine a ring of synchronised orbital mirrors, all connected to a quantum AI shaped like a comb. These satellites don’t just reflect sunlight. They amplify it. One flash, and I can blind every intelligence satellite, drone, and smugly parked Tesla on Earth in a single flicker of the dome.

But just before I could activate the first test in Tokyo...

Bond appeared.

Of course he did.

He has this annoying sixth sense. The "Oh no, someone, about to destroy humanity again" radar.

I spotted him on the surveillance feed, parachuting through a blizzard, tuxedo ironed mid-fall. How does he do that?

He broke into my command center by climbing through a vent. Classic. Like a mouse with expensive cologne.

I was waiting for him, seated in my black leather swivel chair, beard resting across my lap like a cat made of wisdom. I turned slowly to face him. Always turn slowly, it’s villain etiquette.

“Well, well,” I said, sipping ice-cold black tea. “Still rocking that full head of hair. Brave choice in my presence.”

He grinned. “Heard you were dead, Jacob. Guess dandruff wasn’t your only enemy.”

I stood. The air around me shimmered with menace and beard oil.

“I’ve evolved, Bond. While you’ve been chasing skirts and drinking overpriced sadness, I’ve become a legend.”

He pulled out a gadget. Something small and British.

“Let me guess,” I said. “A pen that shoots bullets? A cufflink that calls your mum?”

He pressed a button.

The ceiling exploded.

A helicopter’s rope dropped down.

Coward.

I dove at him. He flipped. I countered. He tried to shoot me, but I blocked the bullet with a compact mirror from my utility beard.

We grappled. Fought across the control room. Smashed into the servers. Kicked over my entire tea shelf.

That tea shelf took two years to collect.

He activated the detonation sequence.

Again.

"Do you ever try diplomacy?" I shouted, dodging a roundhouse.

He smiled. "You never answer your emails."

I tackled him into the mainframe.

Sparks flew. Beards tangled. Satellites blinked.

Just as the base started collapsing (again), I hit him with a stun-palm of pure dome energy. He staggered.

I leaned in, whispering against the static:

“I’m not trying to destroy the world, Bond.
I’m just trying to show it a better reflection.”

Then I vanished, using my escape system: an underground bobsled made entirely of frozen shampoo bottles.

He watched me disappear down the icy tunnel, muttering something heroic, probably.

Now I am in Morocco.

Sun-kissed. Hidden. In a desert fortress shaped like a giant beard brush.

The world still thinks I’m dead.

Bond is licking his wounds.

The Halo Array is paused... for now.

But one day soon, when the skies are clear and the world is watching, I will activate it. The skies will shimmer with the light of justice. Not blinding destruction.

Just a message.

A single flash in the sky that says:

“Jacob lives. Moisturise your scalp. Or perish.”

Coming Soon Chapter III…
