Dear Readers,
Today is the first of September. We’ve come out of a very good monsoon this year, heavy, heavy rains, sometimes overwhelming, but somehow still joyful. The skies poured endlessly, the earth drank deeply, and now the air is cooler, calmer. Festivals passed through with their light and music. Life had its share of storms, but there was fun in it, too.
And this morning, for the first time, the sun shone through my window. The rays fell on my face like a blessing, like a quiet whisper from God Himself. In that moment, I felt something good stirring inside me. Something exciting. Something hopeful. I felt His presence, reminding me that life, even after storms, still offers light.
Yes, I miss my life. I miss the days that once were mine. And the truth is, the past never really leaves us. It walks beside us like a shadow. It haunts, it whispers, it reminds. I have carried the words of failure, of being unwanted, of being told I am not needed. I have carried the weight of loss, especially missing my children, more than anyone can imagine.
But today, when the sun touched my face, I realised something: the past will always be the past, but the future is still unfolding. I used to tell my closest friend, “You cannot move on, you can only move forward.” And maybe that’s the lesson September brings: storms may drench us, voices may haunt us, but the sun still finds a way through the window.
And I cannot forget to mention the one who has stood beside me through it all. Today, when my thoughts wandered into shadows, she was there to remind me of the light. With her words, her strength, and her belief in me, she brightened my day and lifted my spirit. She gave me hope when I was running low, and for that, I am deeply grateful. In a world that often turns its back, she has never stopped standing by my side.
To the world, to anyone who feels like me, haunted by yesterday, rejected by others, abandoned by those you love, please know this: God still places light upon your face. Life may not erase your wounds, but it will still offer you moments of grace.
We don’t know how many years, months, days, hours, or even seconds are given to us. But while we are here, we can choose to notice the small miracles. A season-changing. A festival is celebrated. The warmth of someone’s support. A bird or squirrel at the window. A sunbeam falling across your face.
And if the past says, “you are nothing,” let today’s light say, “you are still here.” You are still moving forward. You are still part of God’s story.
So here is my message this September 1st: no matter what storms have drenched you, no matter how heavy the rains of sorrow or regret, the sun will shine again. And when it does, breathe it in. Let it remind you that something good is still on its way. 🌅
Happy September…
God Bless Us All.
