Battle of the Mini Instrument Cluster - New Kid on the Block

Apr 17, 2023

Competition breeds innovation. And sometimes, innovation comes in very tiny packages. Introducing the smallest digital instrument cluster in the market for the Tesla Model 3 or Model Y.

But don’t get fooled by its size because it packs more indicators than its rivals.

It achieves this by using a small LCD screen measuring 25x12mm instead of having display segments used by its competitors. This makes it possible to show icons and numbers in true graphical form.

Because unlike other products, this tiny display has an even tinier LCD screen which measures 25x12 mm instead of individual display segments used by its competitors. This makes makes it possible to show icons and numbers in true graphical form.

My favourite feature has got to be the animated turn signals. How cool is that!

And finally being small as it is, I can mount it slightly off-centre, but still within line of sight with the road in front, and it doesn’t seem to interfere too much with the airflow from the A/C vent. Thats a big tick for me right there.

Make sure to watch out for my next video where I compare this product side-by-side against its rivals.

In terms of number of available indicators, it packs in the most compared to its competitors at 11. Although it can’t display all 11 indicators at the same time, it achieves that in a clever way. And it does so in a very clever way. For example, they made the turn indicator smaller but it is animated so it’s becomes not prominent when it illuminate so it doesn’t have to be that big to be noticeable. Which is my favourite feature so far.
