Have you heard of Preston's H.O.P.E.?
Preston's H.O.P.E. is the largest fully accessible playground park in Northeast Ohio. This is a playground for children with all levels of abilities and disabilities and provides children with the opportunities to explore, play, and learn. This accessible playground has so many things to see including a Play Theatre, a Sand Area and traditional playground area with swings, tunnels and slides.
Although I never experienced what it was like to be disabled a child, I know what it's like now. I am in awe anytime I find something "special" like an accessible playground because these places aren't super common. I love being able to see children of all abilities and disabilities enjoying their childhood.
This playground is amazing, and I appreciate the fact that it can really bring out a child's imagination. It is also a fairly large playground; it isn't just one small area. Preston's H.O.P.E. has multiple play areas including a 2-story area with many buildings throughout labeled as a gym, bank, town center, and more!
As an adult in a wheelchair, I was so impressed with all of the places I could get around at this playground. Whether your child uses a mobility aid or not, this is a space for everyone, and I would highly recommend visiting if you are ever in northeast Ohio.
The Inspiration: "The inspiration for Preston's H.O.P.E. came from very special friends and family of a little boy born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). They believed that if his dreams were to play in a park with all other kids, then there must be many, many other children with the same dream as well...
