In the age of AI, the person giving the instructions matters more than ever. AI can write the code, the query, or the design document, but deciding what to ask for and judging whether the answer is right stays with you, and that judgment rests on deep, foundational knowledge rather than surface-level tricks. That is why I write these books.
Before AI can search, compare, or aggregate your data, someone has to decide what counts as one thing, and that decision depends on your domain. This book turns it into a craft: setting the boundaries and identity of an entity, specifying meaning, relationships, and behavior, and choosing a representation for each query, starting from everyday work such as deduplicating a customer list.
