Lightsabers are so much fun! Different bold colors and detachable elements in the Darth Revan Force FX Lightsaber from artsabers.com make them all the more irresistible. But ever wondered why so many colors and their significance?

Let's look at the development of various colors in lightsabers in the Star Wars franchise. Authoritative information that all admirers of such canon love. Keep reading and get enlightened!

The first two films, A New Hope and The Empire Strike Back, had blue and red blades. Blue is associated with the Jedi and representatives of the Sith.

In Attack of the Clones, they showed Miss Window's lightsaber with a purple blade. Because actor Samuel L. Jackson said that purple was his favorite color, a purple blade was used for his character, helping him stand out from other Jedi like his lightsaber. Jackson often asks the characters he plays to use materials, usually purple. The Jedi Temple guards were depicted using yellow-bladed lightsabers in The Clone Wars, and at the end of The Rise of Skywalker, Rey created a golden-bladed lightsaber using part of her staff.

As shown in The Clone Wars and Rebels, the creator of the lightsaber selects a Kyber crystal and meditates until the crystal takes on the desired color. The color of this crystal changes to the color of a lightsaber when placed on the handle. In Star Wars: Ahsoka and Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith comic series, the dark users, are shown to separate the crystal from the failed Jedi lightsaber and have the power of concrete on it to reveal its connection. Then, destroy the light side with it. This is a process known as "bleeding," with the formation of a red crystal. The process works reverse, as shown in Ahsoka when a character names a pair of crystals taken by an inquisition. At the novel's end, he uses them in a pair of white lightsabers he makes for himself.

The Darksaber, such as the Darth Revan Black Series Lightsaber, is a unique lightsaber with a special black blade and a white halo. He was introduced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) and appeared in Star Wars Rebels. The latter film described it as an ancient lightsaber created by the first Mandalorian to become a Jedi and later used as a symbol of Mandalorian power.

It soon appears in the first season finale of The Mandalorian in the hands of Moff Gideon. Later, at the end of the second series, his ownership passed to the hero of the series, Dean Tijarin, who defeated Gideon but did not like it. So, he wants to give it to Bo-Kattan, but as Gideon explains, the Dark Sword cannot be given to one person; it must be won in battle.

Some other colors also appear in various media projects, such as anime and video games. Also, the character can choose the lightsaber color for his character or the player.
