Not much went on for the 1st & 2nd Of October apart from a trip to the laundrette's. I paid monthly bills and got a food order delivery. I learned that a poetry show I suggested for the Festival Of Fantastic Films taking place later this month is now going ahead. Whoo!
Saturday 3rd October 2026
I planned to be on a CAMRA bus trip from Preston to Newcastle Under Lyme in Staffordshire today. I paid £17.50 for it and looked forward to it immensely. Sadly, I got the leaving time wrong, thinking it was 10.30 am, but it was 9.45 am. Sent my apologies to the local CAMRA branch who just replied that they will not refund my booking fees. Ah well. To compensate for my disappointment in not going to Staffordshire I caught a bus to Fleetwood and explored there, Poulton Le Fylde & Cleveleys on what proved to be an unusually hot day for the early Autumn.

Open Mic music and poetry at The Vinyl Tap, with a great chance to perform alongside many terrific acts.
Monday 5th October
Caught up on photo and diary entry keeping.
Wednesday 7th October
Quiz night, and a full team turn out and a fun game though we didn’t win or come even close. Our team's unofficial mascot, Bruno the bulldog was in too.

I had a hospital check up booked for today but it is postponed to tomorrow and at a different hospital further away which is jolly annoying.
