I survived the Edinburgh Festival season, but only just.

Wanting to support the city and arts, I bought many tickets, forgetting that in my geeky world, two big events clashed: GenCon and ZineQuest. The result was intense. I reviewed all but one of the shows I saw because all but one were great, and that other one was okay!

At the end of the event, lots of PR companies had promised to be friendly with me and lure me in with freebies next year. We'll see. I still think I'll buy first and treat myself, reviewing if I want to, not otherwise, before I consider any other tickets. Nevertheless, I do sense the pressure these (often junior) marcoms people are under, the investment the shows hiring them have made, and I want to help if I can.

Next? I have got a trip to Glasgow, but on my radar in Edinburgh is Scotland Loves Animation, an anime festival, I already have the week off work to attend -- but now films/anime have been announced, and I'm getting nervous.

I think I've fixed the tips/buy me a coffee button here. I know it was rejecting a backer in Germany, but I've leapt through Stripe's hoops and have just tipped myself. If you don't think it's working, please let me know!

Lastly, following the royal death and on the way to the royal funeral, the Queen will be taken through Edinburgh. I've been trying to keep this map updated to keep up with all the road closures. I hope it's useful.
