I made merch for the “stupid hikes for stupid mental health” community, and honestly, I love how it turned out.
There are tees, tanks, and hoodies available now, and 25% of all proceeds go directly to KS Wild, an organization doing incredible work protecting the forests, rivers, wildlife, and public lands here in Southern Oregon and across the Klamath-Siskiyou region.
This phrase started as something a little silly. A way to describe the thing I kept doing when I did not know what else to do. I would go outside. I would walk. I would hike. I would wander into the trees with my stupid little water bottle and my stupid little feelings and hope that being outside would make life feel even slightly more manageable. And somehow, it did.
Not because nature magically fixes everything. It does not. A hike does not cure depression. A trail does not pay the bills. A waterfall does not solve every hard thing waiting for you when you get back to the car.
But getting outside helps me remember I am still here. Still breathing. Still moving. Still capable of taking one more step.
That is what “stupid hikes for stupid mental health” has always meant to me.
It is funny, but it is also real. It is about choosing to keep going. It is about community. It is about public lands. It is about mental health. It is about those moments where you do not need your life to be perfect, you just need enough space to breathe again.

It helps support my work as a creator, advocate, storyteller, and public lands weird guy on the internet.
