Good morning from Westchester

Good morning from Westchester

Oct 09, 2024

The Mister and I moved to Westchester at the end of last year from an apartment on W. 102nd in NYC that I'd lived in for 20 years. I loved that apartment but living up here with actual views of sunrises, sunsets, and trees has been refreshing. The view from my living room was the building across gap between buildings (far enough away that you really couldn't see into another apartment but close enough where 90% of the view was a brick wall). The view from my bedroom was better - it was a southern view between two buildings on either side..... the distance was pretty wide and thankfully it was a parking garage on one side and an apartment building on the other, but you could never not feel like you were in a city. Still, I spent many an afternoon nap staring out the window - an intense glow from the sun would shine in for about an hour every day.... it was glorious. This was especially helpful for my mental health during the early days of Covid - I was WFH but the availability of a 20 minute 're-set' really helped keep me going.

The picture below is this morning's sunrise in Westchester. Enjoy!
