Getting back into my writing routine, so I've got some updates for my patrons and regulars. Right now I'm currently dual wielding WIPs (3 if you count a secret project I'm working on for next fall). So, let's talk about them!
Book 2:
Book 2 in the Wayward Déine Chronicles in underway. I've begun the outlining process and drafting. It'll be more focused in my research than the last book since we'll be deep diving into world building and Kia's history and special interests. One of my research topics is cartomancy, or using a deck of cards to tell fortunes. Get ready for some exciting ghost/psychic powers to come from our grumpy redheaded Barbie. I'm holding a bunch of the details for this book close to the chest, so you all here will be getting more sneak peeks that the rest of my socials. I really want this book to be more of a surprise.
Sneak Peek #1: Book 2 takes place during Samhain (Halloween), so there's lots of Irish/Celtic lore including a close up of how the Otherworld and the dead interact with the living in my universe.
Novella aka 1.5:
While I was finishing up book 1 updates for the paperback release, a few characters started pushing their way into my mind and screaming for a story of their own. One of those was Tully, Lorne's cousin in the fae realms. The story will technically occur in between books 1 and 2, but you'll be able to read it as a standalone. It will also give you a peek at some characters that will feature in book 2 and 3.
I'm about 25% finished with the novella, but I'm hoping to get a draft out in February to a few select readers. It's a pretty different style than I'm used to writing. One POV, with internal dialogue, and the character growth will focus mainly on the FMC since it's such a short piece. But it is proving to be the most exciting and energizing piece I've written thus far. Each chapter gets me amped up to write the next one. Plus lots and LOTS of smut.
Keep an eye out for a new post coming up about the giveaway I'm hosting. You won't want to miss out!
Meet me between the moonbeams and bat wings, reader.
Magically yours,
Amelia
