The Search for Alpha Readers is ON!

The Search for Alpha Readers is ON!

Nov 25, 2023

Tomorrow, I'll be posting the link to the alpha application form on my Insta. And the whirlwind of emotions inside, borders on tornado warning. Anxiety, excitement, abject terror, and a smidge of pride.

Coming from a space where writing critique is vital to the process, it is something I sorely miss about writing this book. Alpha reading feels like the commercial equivalent, which means I finally get the feedback I've been missing. I love feedback because it inspires me to make my writing better. And I thrive on praise. Yay Childhood trauma!

But with this new step comes the anxious thoughts familiar to most creatives. What if no one signs up? What if they start reading and hate it? What if I fall short of fixing the issues they identify? I know the fears are from insecurity, but they're here in my brain anyways. Hopefully, tomorrow will be high positivity.

Despite my nerves, I'm so proud of getting to this moment and the progress I've accomplished amidst book coaching and my full time job. Over the next 3 weeks, I hope to find the five readers who are just as excited as I am for this book.

So, I'm off to finish some graphics for tomorrow.

Meet you between the moonbeams and batwings, reader.

Fun fact: Guildswood Tavern is the main setting for book 1, so it's only appropriate that my alpha readers are hired on the same as my characters. So, whoever is selected is officially hired as Guildswood Tavern Day Crew.
