This was my first NAFO Forum article. This story emerged when I *felt* the paper of The Baltic Independent weekly newspaper in 1991-2, and realized that that paper sourcing was a huge problem for the Baltic countries at this time. Strange for three countries dominated by trees, no?

The Kremlin's Useful Chaos: Troop Watch Data from 1992-4

These are valuable data for European OSINT practitioners, journalists, Think Tanks, intelligence agencies and defense ministries who want to assess the Kremlin’s likely actions when their Russian armies are situated in place, in legal greyzones, after the Kremlin’s long occupations. Yes, I'm expecially thinking of what is ahead of us for Ukraine.

I digitized 1314 individual Troop Watch reports from The Baltic Independent (TBI) weekly newspapers, covering >1600 incidents and gave a first analysis. The Troop Watch reports are from my own TBI newspapers.
