Working from home alone, either in your business or as an employee, can be a lonely old place. And being 'alone' is a very different feeling to being 'lonely'. I know because I've experienced both flip flopping throughout my life.
Living in France from 2015 - 2021, I was isolated and lonely. We lived in a ski resort, and it was only busy at certain times of the year. I set up an online coworking and mastermind group, and it was fantastic.
Connecting peeps from around the world to come together, focus and get shi* done online for two hours twice a week. The mastermind was once a week. They loved it. I loved it.
However, if it's one thing we know for certain, it's that life evolves.
Now I'm back in the UK, living in a rural area, I found myself in familiar territory - working from home, going slightly stir crazy working on my tod, and wanting to connect with other like minded folk. We're human and we're meant to connect and chat, especially if you're an outgoing social being like me!
So I began the in real life community coworking cafe in a Brewery 2 years ago, and have since added another venue - a restaurant in Arundel, and now for the third; at a Coffee Roasters.
It's time to make running these a sustainable option for me in continuing to grow this community initiative. It's a great way to get out, connect with others and still get work done.
And who knows, the online version may make a come back!
