My name is Alyda De Villers. I was born in Mexico City and completed the coursework for a Master of Fine Arts in Painting at the San Carlos Academy in the mid 1990s. In that decade, my practice focused on exploring fractal and topological space within the pictorial domain. I specialize primarily in oil painting. Watercolor and gouache also form a key part of my traditional work.
Currently, my subjects include landscapes, still lifes, and portrait drawing. I have incorporated digital painting on an iPad into my practice. I also combine digital art with images generated by AI, and I integrate those results with traditional gouache painting.
