Happy Fall Everyone!
This is my favorite time of year, because I love COLOR! I love to use just about every color in my Junk Journaling, and usually many at the same time! So I decided to dedicate a day to leaf collecting and leaf scanning, as the trees are all turning now here in Minneapolis. We're at peak changing this week and so my husband and I took our little Winnie-dog down to the Mississippi River and walked along some trails on the banks that are pretty near our home. Our path was covered by overhanging trees and the ground was littered with a few leaves. So we picked dozens of leaves and popped them into a bag until we could get home. Winnie had a lovely time walking someplace new, and we had a blast finding a variety of colors from a variety of different trees and plants. Maple leaves are my favorites but there were quite a variety to choose from--maple, oak, sumac, and I few we couldn't identify. Luckily my hubs is an Eagle Scout, so he pointed out the poison ivy so I wouldn't accidentally pick that. That would have been sad!
It took several hours to scan everything, arranging leaves in layers and different combinations, and then I got the idea to use some of my coffee-dyed papers as backgrounds instead of the stark white. So now I've got a new digital in my Etsy shop, but I saved one of my favorite scans, actually the first one I did, for a freebie here on buymeacoffee. I'm glad I scanned everything that same day I collected the leaves, because most of them were curled up and dried out by the next day! So fleeting, this beauty. I'm glad I could capture a little piece of it in all its glory!
