If you’re looking to get in on some games before they launch, check out my blogs. I love writing and letting you guys know about Betas, to give you guys the opportunity to get a say in games being developed. For those of you that love the idea, I have a few open and closed Betas that might peak your interest.
First up, I have a game called Shardbound, and it will be debuting on the Steam and Epic games store.
Shardbound is a popular Ethereum turn-based strategy card game that combines deck-building and tactical combat. Players assemble decks filled with unique cards to command units on a grid-based battlefield. The game features various victory paths, allowing players to win through direct military confrontations or by using economic strategies to outlast their opponents.
One notable feature is that viewers can join mid-game, enhancing the interactive experience. Bazooka Tango plans to gather community feedback during this phase to refine and improve the game’s mechanics. While the game incorporates blockchain technology, some features will be limited on Steam due to the platform’s restrictions on NFT-enabled games. Players can still acquire NFTs representing in-game cards through Immutable’s network, but they will need to claim these using email codes or their wallet system. Additional details about the NFTs will be available sometime in the near future.
The Beta will remain open for an unspecified duration, with ongoing adjustments based on player input. For those of you wanting in on this open Beta, check out Steam or the Epic Games store. The open Beta starts October 9th.
The second Beta that might peak my Xbox and PC player’s interest, is a game called FragPunk.
Set to arrive in 2025, this hero shooter lets you transform gameplay in real time by activating unique Shard Cards that can modify your experience in countless ways. Each match is designed to be quick, lasting no more than two and a half minutes, where one wrong move can cost you the game.
Signing up for the beta doesn't guarantee you will get access. This beta is running on a first-come first-served basis, so the faster you register, the better your odds are.
To sign up on Xbox simply go to the Xbox Insider Hub, click on previews, find FragPunk, and click the Choose to Join button. Once you’ve entered, they’ll contact you through Xbox to let you know if you’re in.
To sign up on PC, simply go to the FragPunk page on Steam, and select Request Access under the Join the FragPunk Playtest banner. Steam will send you an email, if you’re chosen to participate in the Beta.
The FragPunk Beta starts on October 10 and ends on October 21. You can preload the game starting October 8 to ensure you're ready to dive in as soon as the beta launches. Additionally, the beta will support crossplay, allowing players on Xbox and PC to play together.
The last Beta I have for you, is a closed beta for a game called Rage of the Dragons: NEO. Rage of the Dragons NEO brings the classic 2002 arcade fighter to PC, showcasing its unique and innovative gameplay. Celebrated for its stunning visuals and technical advancements for its time; the game features beautiful scenery, fluid animations, impressive moves, and an acclaimed soundtrack, making it essential for any fighting game enthusiast.
Renowned for its challenging gameplay, Rage of the Dragons NEO centers around tag team battles, allowing players to control two characters—switching between them during combat and unleashing unique special moves by using both simultaneously.
The publisher of the game announced it will be getting a closed beta to test the re-release online code. From Friday, October 11th to Sunday, October 13th, selected applicants can play against other closed beta players in ranked matches. Anyone who is interested in participating can fill out an application with the link I’ve provided below.
If you don’t get selected to take part of the online closed beta, a demo of the game will be available as part of the Steam Next Fest which will be happening October 14th to the 21st.
Definitely check out some of these games if you guys are interested, especially my Xbox people. It’s not everyday you get to test a game on a console, normally everything is on PC. So check it out and get in on the action.
Tune back in next week when I find some more sweet Betas for you guys to dig into.
