A new edition of PlayStation State of Play is scheduled to air later this month, as reliable news source Jeff Grubb suggested in his most recent Game Mess podcast episode. However, because the games featured would be more "low-key," he urged listeners to adjust their expectations.

Additionally, Jeff Grubb hinted that Sony would be storing some significant announcements for a pre-E3 display, which would confirm previous rumors that the company might miss this year's physical E3 expo. Grubb also stressed the distinction between a State of Play and a PlayStation Showcase, stating that the former focuses on minor upgrades and certain titles while the latter is where Sony exposes all of its major weapons.

Though Sony's future intentions are still unknown, Hideaki Nishino, SVP of SIE Platform Experience, recently talked with Famitsu and said that 2023 is anticipated to be a big year for the platform because the PS5 is anticipated to sell more than 37 million units by the end of the fiscal year 2022. Given that the PS5 has been out for three years, just as the PS4 Pro was introduced three years after the original PS4, Famitsu also predicted that there would be a new platform upgrade for the PS5. Even though there was no official response, Insider Gaming stated that this update was in fact occurring and may take the shape of a PS5 with a portable hard drive.image

On its official website, Sony now lists 23 new titles that are certain to delight fans. The list contains games like Resident Evil 4 Remake, Assassin's Creed Mirage, and Final Fantasy 16. With the exception of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Horizon: Call of the Mountain.
