The Raiden voice actor in the Metal Gear Solid video games appears to have hinted at the possibility of upcoming Konami franchise news. In Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Quinton Flynn played the role of Raiden. Last week, he tweeted a video promoting his Cameo page.
The 10th anniversary of Metal Gear Rising will be in February 2023, a follower who commented on the video on Monday, reminded us all of that. Another follower responded later, asking if a potential Metal Gear Rising 2 would be in the works. They speculated that an announcement might be made as part of a broader Metal Gear showcase stream.
Flynn responded with a winking emoji and said, "Stay tuned for things to be announced in the coming weeks.
It's unclear if Flynn was talking about Metal Gear Rising 2, a Metal Gear festivity, or just fresh Metal Gear news in general. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was reportedly being updated by the Singapore-based studio Virtuos in 2021, according to VGC sources. Following our news that it had been granted the MGS license, VGC later claimed that a Virtuos employee had claimed the company was working on a "unannounced [triple-A] action adventure game remake."
A revelation for all of the projects is expected this year. Modern ports of the classic Metal Gear Solid games are also reportedly planned.
