High on Life, a hilarious space shooter by Squanch Games, recently received an update that added some useful new features as well as fixes for a number of bugs.

High on Life was made available on Xbox Game Pass as a day-one release, which immediately increased the profile of the hilarious sci-fi shooter, even though Squanch Games had enjoyed considerable success with its earlier games, such as the VR-focused Trover Saves the Universe. High on Life, a December 2022 release that was unique to PC and Xbox consoles, earned favorable reviews from both gamers and critics. The unusual mash-up of Rick and Morty and Star Wars: Bounty Hunter won over players looking for something distinctly different from the military shooters that dominate the genre, even though a steady stream of childish humor and the constant jabs from High on Life's talking guns turned some players off from the game.

The most recent patch for High on Life, patch 3, adds a feature that PC users have been asking for a long time in addition to fixing a number of persistent issues with the game. The patch corrects a number of non-progression flaws that had the potential to completely halt players' progress, leaving them with no choice but to completely restart the game—news that is likely to be appreciated by many players. The patch also resolves less serious but still irritating flaws that prevented players from achieving a number of the game's accomplishments.

The inability to alter the game's constrained FOV until now had proven to be a source of annoyance for many players, even though PC gamers have the option to run the game at greater resolutions and framerates than their console counterparts, assuming their gaming PC is powerful enough. The patch notes claim that "Globo now farts more regularly" as part of yet another piece of material that is likely to make fans of the game's frequently scatological comedy smile.

It may be the ideal moment to play the bizarre sci-fi shooter now that the most recent patch has fixed some of the game's lingering rough edges and insured that players won't get caught in Space Applebee's.

For PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S users, High on Life is now available.
