New Seasons and New Events have started on a plethora of different games! With the start of the New Year, there's a whole bunch of different special events and updates for some of our favorites. Let's check it out!
Apex Legends - Astral Anomaly Event
Interdimensional chaos erupts as Launch Royale returns with a vengeance, across more maps with a turbocharged rotation. Dive into the mayhem and earn Bytes to redeem rewards in the Reward Shop including Epic Skins for Seer and the Flatline. Don otherworldly containment suits as you pull from 15 Event cosmetics including Legendary Skins for Octane and more with an opportunity for Legendary Skins for Horizon and Alter, each with a unique Character Select Animation..
Pick-up 15 otherworldly limited-time cosmetics as you progress through the Astral Anomaly event. Each item received during the event counts towards bonus rewards that are automatically unlocked at milestones along the way including 10 Exotic Shards.
All 15 items will be available in Astral Anomaly Event Apex Packs† for the duration of the event, with each pack having a chance to unlock Alter’s “Anarchonaut” and Horizon’s “Dark Horizon” skins. Note: each event pack contains one event item and two standard items, and there are no duplicates of event items in these packs.
Plus there has been a big update to the game itself including patches and balances to modes, weapons, attachments, and even Legends.
Apex Legends - Astral Anomaly Event started January 7th and will end January 20th.
Brawlhalla - Ranked Season 35
Ulgrim and the Dwarves of Ivaldi have been working to reforge all damaged weapons and armor in preparation for another Ranked Season. Season 35 began the moment Season 34 ended, because in Valhalla, Legends need no rest in their quest for eternal glory. Speaking of Glory, all Ranked enthusiasts should have been well-rewarded for their efforts, get ready for a shopping spree in the Ranked tab of Mallhalla.
This season features an all new Seasonal Ranked Queue with a gauntlet of 3v3 modes that changes each month, and the Valhallan rank opens on January 22nd.
Brawlhalla - Ranked Season 35 has officially started January 8th, and will last for Thirteen weeks.
F1 24 - Season 5 'Shifting Gears'
Get your hands on a new Challenge Career and a Pro Challenge from one of the latest to advance to Formula 1. Alongside the return of Elimination Mode in F1, there are plenty of items to reward your performances. With a huge milestone in the sport just around the corner, what better a time to celebrate than by checking out a pair of retro-inspired liveries, available as soon as Season 5 gets underway.
Waiting in the wings and coming into the fold mid-season, Liam Lawson was a firecracker in the handful of races he took part in to close out the 2024 season. We caught up with him earlier in the year where he set a lap time of 1495 around the streets of Singapore; the track where he scored his first Formula 1 points in 2023. Making a return following its F2 variant earlier in the year, Elimination Mode is back, this time for Formula 1. In case you missed out before, here’s how it works: every 30 seconds the driver in last place is knocked out until only one remains.
F1 24 - Season 5 'Shifting Gears' started on January 8th, and ends on March 5th.
League of Legends - Season 1 (2025) 'Welcome to Noxus'
Big changes are here.. like a fresh coat of paint for the map, a new Epic monster named Atakhan and a new system called Feats of Strength. They also are doing some smaller changes like a teleport revamp, minion adjustments, and a few of your usual gameplay balance changes. Quite a few new changes that will be coming to you off the Rift, like Fearless draft coming to pro play in Season 1, multiplayer practice tool, and a brand new queue called Swiftplay.
League of Legends - Season 1 (2025) 'Welcome to Noxus' started on January 9th, and will end on March 3rd.
Marvel Rivals - Season 1 'Eternal Night Falls'
Darkness engulfs New York as the Timestream Entanglement leaves Doctor Strange trapped in the Entangled Astral Plane, scattering the Darkhold pages. Dracula and Doctor Doom disrupt the moon’s orbit, plunging the city into eternal night and unleashing an army of vampiric creatures. With the world on the brink, the Fantastic Four join forces with iconic Marvel heroes, standing together in the epic battle to break the mystical darkness with science. Ignite the battle against Dracula with the Fantastic Four in Marvel Rivals.
This new season also had some small reworks done, not much to team-up's, however most of the characters have been reworked in one way or another.
Marvel Rivals - Season 1 'Eternal Night Falls' started January 10th and will end sometime in April. No actual date has been set, but it is scheduled to run for three months.
Skull and Bones 'The Legend of the Nian' Event
Face "The Legend of the Nian" and fight for your rewards! The Nian beast, a hunter in the mist is now roaming the seas of the Indian Ocean. Many crews have fallen in effort to reap the rewards.
The Nian event introduces an exhilarating showdown against the titular creature, a ferocious beast that summons the kind of chaos you’d expect from a pirate’s worst nightmare. Discourse among players reveals that the experience becomes much more enjoyable when tackled in smaller groups. Between three to six, a few different players have warned.
A whole slew of rewards await like the legendary Naga’s Call Culverine. So there is a chance you can get your hands on some legendary loot. It's not always guaranteed, but some players have gotten very lucky just a few days in.
Skull and Bones 'The Legend of the Nian' Event started January 14th, and will end on February 11th.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0 'Paeon of Era Nova
This update introduces the long-awaited world of Amphoreus and begins an epic new chapter in our main story. The Trailblaze Mission in Amphoreus will be released in two parts across eight versions, from 3.0 to 3.7, making it the largest story arc in Honkai: Star Rail to date. Get ready to embark on the “Hero’s Journey” with new playable characters — Aglaea and The Herta, plus the Trailblazer: Remembrance unlocking a new Path.
Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0 'Paeon of Era Nova is available on PC, PS5, Android, and IOS.
Dead by Daylight - Patch 8.5.0
The Nightmare – Freddy Krueger himself – is one of horror’s most iconic slashers. While he has proven himself to be a formidable foe for newer players, he’s begun to feel a little left behind in Dead by Daylight’s current landscape. They've made several adjustments to his Power, which should help Freddy feel like the Dream Demon he was always destined to be.
Warframe - Lunar New Year 2025
