A contemporary board game genuinely making a splash is relatively uncommon. Many families still play Catan regularly, and Codenames is undoubtedly attracting a lot of interest. Wingspan, however, is one that consistently flies beneath non-board gamers' radars.. and Wingspan is excellent.
In order to construct a competitive engine, Wingspan must carefully balance the needs of the birds it collects, houses, and feeds. Even the most experienced players will become captivated in the gameplay because it is rich and complex enough.
The game Wingspan is rather simple. Each player takes one action during their turn. Play a bird, gather food, lay eggs, or draw birds, as appropriate. Birds make nests for eggs, have specific talents, and are worth points. But for them to play, birds need food, and other birds need eggs.
The depth and complexity of an engine building game come not from the rules themselves but rather from the way the many game elements interact and build upon one another. Building a robust, self-sustaining game is always very rewarding. This holds true regardless of the situation in Wingspan.
The price for Wingspan is at 40% off right now on Amazon, the lowest it's been in a litter over a month. Now is the perfect opportunity to purchase this wonderful game for yourself, and if you wind up loving it, check out the European Expansion!
