Good news ... if you know someone who wants to learn or practice hula dancing.
I'm hosting private or group Zoom sessions to teach and practice hula dancing.
Since this is a new class being offered weekly, you can pay according to what you can afford and how much value you get from the lesson.
Meet on a Zoom video conference with me where I’ll spend an hour teaching you basic hula dance moves and use them in song.
Hula dancing is for all fitness levels and any age of men, women or kids who are looking for a fun way to workout or just learn something new.
It will be offered every Thursday, 2:30pm - 3:30pm and other days can be arranged by request.
The basic moves you will learn are:
Hela, Kaholo, Ami, Kao, and Uwehe
It will also include a warm-up and stretch to start, and a cool down and stretch at the end to help you feel good during and afterwards.
FAQ:
Q: How many lessons are included?
A: Since this is a new class and I'm not sure how much time dancers want to spend each month on it, I'm scheduling 1 lesson at a time.
If you want to pay in advance for a bundle of lessons to pay once instead of multiple times then call me at 757-744-9678 so we can work out something.
Q: Do I need special gear to wear?
A: Wear what is comfortable to you. Hula is usually done barefoot but you can wear socks, just make sure the socks are non-slip if you will not be on carpet. Here's a link to a video for more details: https://youtu.be/GrLFCOZ570A
Q: Can I do this if I have an injury?
A: That depends on your situation but I must advise you to consult your doctor if you're concerned with any injury, past or present, that may be aggravated by any physical activity.
