Not-So-Weekly Update 9/7/24

Sep 07, 2024

Hey gang. It's still mildly excruciating writing updates, but if you care enough to read this, then you deserve an update. It's tough, though, so the best I have is bullet points.

  • auditioned for an A24 movie earlier in the year, weird but fun callback - thanks Towson for preparing me

  • called off my wedding

  • simultaneously crushed and saved by The Tortured Poets Department

  • the middle of June was the first anniversary of dad's death

  • shot a short for a dude's YouTube channel...I don't find it particularly funny, but I got paid and I got a lot of screen time and new contacts out of it.

  • left my fiancé at the end of June

  • cried so hard I nearly threw up

  • spent July in South Carolina at Nick's hiding out, watching HotD, and reading

  • I cry a lot but I am so productive

  • died my hair pink

  • in August I went home to Maryland and met my nephew!!!

  • saw Deadpool & Wolverine twice

  • bought new art

  • Hazel had fleas

  • Cried some more

  • moved out of the apartment in Smyrna and in with a friend from college in Decatur (yes, I'm staying in Atlanta, we moved there for me) (thanks mom for flying in for the day)

  • took two months off from Old Navy

  • got new duties and a raise from my podcasting boss - THANKS EVO <3

  • MY FIRST FEATURE IS AVAILABLE TO RENT OR BUY - this money does come back to me and the film has won over 300 awards from festivals around the world so go buy it and share with friends

  • I went to DragonCon, saw some celebrities, bought a lot of art, and saw a lot of sick costumes

  • started back at Old Navy

  • two of my new housemates and I started a 30-day fitness challenge and a two-week workout program

  • the Chiefs won their season opener, sorry Ravens fans

  • still crying but less than before

  • excited to decorate my new space

  • surprisingly excited for football season

  • enjoying girl time with my roommates
