Get to know me /2

Nov 16, 2021

See, what a 3/5 Manifesting Generator life could be. Should make an interesting story to you. Especially the parts, where I struggled. And THOSE are a lot.

So I took the deal I was offered and honoured it. I showed up on time, had a cup of coffee with my social worker and asked him questions. I was constantly talking about my thoughts on how it was in this moment. Where I wanted to go with my life. What I wanted to do. Whenever I stopped I was asked a question. I learned about myself a lot during these sessions. He encouraged me and lifted me. He did not judge me in any moment and it was a blessing.

Years later I found out, that my social worker has a degree in psychology - and we were simply having sessions. I am in good contact with him up until now and from time to time i still get "a little guiding" from him, especially, when times are rough.

One day i came into his office and he showed me a job description. "How does that feel to you" he asked - and i was all fired up. It was a combination of volontary work and evening courses at both: one of the best public relations agencies and one of the best private universities in communications.

Today I'd say i had a hell yes. Handed in my application and was absolutely sure, I'd get the job - despite of not having the requirements. I didn't care, I wanted it. I got invited to the interview and the first thing i did in the waiting room was informing the other applicants, that they waste their time because i would go home with that job today.

The interview started and I said the same thing. "Mr Future-Boss, you can send everybody else home. I am not leaving without this job."

He was not impressed at all and asked me, why I would think that, and reminded me, that i did not have the requirements to work at his company - and even more would not have the requirements to go study at this private university he was about to pay for.

My answer was pretty simple: "Sir, you knew all that before inviting me to this interview. And still you invited me. You must have felt or seen something and I am confident, that i will meet your gut feeling now that you see me in person. I felt something with your job advert - and YOU meet MY gut feeling. I will work here."

To cut a long story short: he was the second person in my life to see me. To give me the freedom to do thing my way. He was one of the most respected teachers at the private university - and simply broke the rules for me. I got in. And he taught me everything I wanted to know. He also let me work harder than everybody else, expected more and i worked my ass off in those three years.

Still i wanted to be a musician and he knew. I ALWAYS got the time off to go make music when i needed to. Damn, he even drove me to gigs. But after I had to come to the agency and do, what I had to do this day. And I did.

Let's be clear about this: despite everybody elses opinion and tons of "you'll NEVER get anything done" I was 20/21 when I had completed school, could call myself PR Consultant and had finished studying communications at one of the best adresses in the country to do so. And all of this while parallel being background singer for the likes of Ronan Keating, Jusuf Islam and many others. Having my third record deal and pursuing my dream.

Take this, fucking nay-sayers.
