Sunkissed

Illustration #2, Sunkissed, of the One with Nature collection is finally complete! I hope you Iove the way she turned out as much as I do!

The flower featured in this one is a sunflower. The Greek mythological origin of the sunflower tells the story of a nymph in love with Apollo, god of Sun. He however doesn’t reciprocate her love, she turns into a sunflower and forever faces the sun hoping that one day he will return to her someday. This is why sunflowers are often associated with unwavering faith and unconditional love. Seeing sunflowers always brightens up my day. Their vibrant color and appearance of reaching for the sky represents optimism to me.
