This zine is a statement of practice that uses a 1945 essay by C.S. Lewis as the model for exploring subjectivity and objectivity in graphic design. I draw on my personal experience, having worked in both the industry and the academy, as well as published scholarship to argue for a synthetic multi-modal practice in which creative intuition is combined with research methods. This zine may be of special interest to new graphic design professors who are trying to make sense of their applied field within the research university. Specs: 5x7.75 inches, 24 pages, self-cover, risograph printed in Sky Blue and Yellow by bearbear in Milwaukee, WI. Illustrations were made with cyanotypes.
