Hey everyone
It’s official. Google’s June 2025 Core Update rolled out, and like most core updates, it’s shaking things up in both expected and unexpected ways.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what I’ve seen so far from monitoring client sites, my own niche blogs, and chatter from the SEO community:
What Changed This Time?
Based on early patterns and data:
Helpful Content Signals Are Stronger
Pages that are clearly written for users (not AI + affiliate fluff) are gaining. Thin roundup posts and generic AI content seem to be hit hard.Topical Authority Matters More Than Ever
Sites that are tightly focused around a single niche with consistent, high-quality posts are seeing positive movement. General blogs without a clear theme? Mixed results.Over-Optimized Content Dropping
Keyword stuffing, forced FAQs, and unnatural internal linking are triggering ranking drops. Google's getting better at spotting “SEO-for-the-sake-of-SEO.”EEAT Signals Are Front and Center
First-hand experience, author bios, transparent site ownership, and clear trust signals are driving better results especially in YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) niches.
Who’s Getting Hit?
From what I’ve seen:
Mass-produced AI blogs with no clear branding or EEAT
Sites with excessive programmatic pages (like location + keyword combos)
Blogs trying to cover everything with mediocre depth
Affiliate-heavy sites with no added value beyond Amazon links
What’s Working Right Now?
Here’s what seems to be rewarded:
First-hand experience (reviews, photos, walkthroughs, real use)
Clear niche focus and helpful internal linking
Original data or real insights (even small ones)
Strong About pages, author bios, and policy pages
Sites updating existing content instead of only publishing new stuff
My Advice (for now)
Audit your content. Start with your top pages. Are they genuinely helpful, updated, and written for humans first?
Update old content. Add value, examples, or updated info. Google loves fresh, useful content.
Don’t panic. Core updates take time to settle. Watch Search Console and analytics for 1–2 weeks before making major changes.
Double down on branding and experience. Even if you’re a one-person team, show who’s behind the site.
This is just my early analysis I’ll post a deeper breakdown for Tier 2 and up with real examples, data from test sites, and strategies I’m using to recover and grow.
If you’re seeing traffic drops (or gains!), feel free to share. Let’s learn from it together.
