Dante Dixon before his rematch against Marco Moreno - AAWA Fight2Survie 02.07.2025
Last Friday, we watched the thrilling rematch between Dante Dixon and Marco Moreno. The match kept us all on edge, especially since, the week before, Dixon had suffered a serious injury after hitting the back of his head on the bottom turnbuckle while attempting his signature Screw Driver move. You can view the injury on the AAWA YouTube page here. This injury is what brings us to today’s discussion—well, it’s the catalyst, to say the least.

Dixon not able to beat the 10 count after hitting the back of his head - Fight2Survive 01.31.2025
It has been reported to me that the higher-ups at AAWA advised Dante Dixon to take more time off to fully recover before returning to the ring. However, Dixon chose not to listen. Not only did he return last Friday at Fight2Survive, but he also demanded General Manager approval to face his rival, Marco Moreno. That match, which you can watch here, lasted almost 12 minutes and was incredibly taxing for Dixon. At times, he appeared noticeably out of it and seemed slower than usual. There was even a moment where both competitors nearly suffered a double knockout. Dixon, though, was the slower of the two and barely managed to get to his feet before the referee reached a count of 8.
Dixon won the match, but it was clear he gave everything he had. Once backstage, away from the crowd, he collapsed after asking a staff member for a cup of water. He was rushed to the hospital for immediate evaluation. AAWA officials have remained tight-lipped about the status of Dixon’s condition, but inside sources have informed us that Dixon will not appear on this Friday's show. When asked whether he would be present for the Reparations PPV, sources have indicated that it's highly unlikely.
One source, who is employed by the company, stated, "I don’t think they feel Dixon is at 100% right now. The feeling backstage is that he will be shelved until the AAWA office feels he can perform without the risk of another incident. Dixon is known to put it all on the line, often recklessly... sometimes to his own detriment."
We have reached out to Dixon's team for a statement, but have yet to receive a response. We also hope to get a comment from the Marco Moreno camp regarding the situation.
