One of the top reasons people don’t stick with habits long-term (especially financial goals) isn’t that they’re bad at logical reasoning.
To the contrary, it’s emotional reasoning that trips us up.
We rationally process through what we want our life to look like, create a game plan, and stick with the logical route until an unexplained emotion derails our plans.
This is normal. Unfortunately, it’s a part of not being a Vulcan like Spock. Our fight/flight instincts are deeply ingrained.
Fortunately, once we understand what causes these emotional responses and detangle them from others, our logical reasoning gets to take the driver’s seat back.
