In ancient times, astrologers and astronomers were one and the same.
It would not have made sense to separate these two ways of observing the sky.
The word astrology originates from the Greek language and can be understood as the wisdom and teaching of the stars. It is rooted in logos — knowledge — pointing toward a deeper inquiry into the nature of time and existence.
While clocks and watches measure time in quantity, astrology reveals the quality of time. Astronomy records the movements of planets and stars; astrology explores the meaning and living rhythm expressed through these movements.
The word horoscope comes from the Greek hora and skopein, meaning to observe the hour or "look into the hour". A horoscope is a representation of the sky at a specific moment and place on Earth. It shows the constellations and planets in their ongoing movement through the zodiac.
The Radix, or natal chart, can be understood as the blueprint of the soul’s curriculum in human life — a symbolic map accompanying the individual through the journey of earthly experience.
Today, most astrologers work with modern software and rarely observe the actual sky directly. As a result, many are unaware that the commonly used Tropical Astrology system no longer reflects the real positions of the visible star constellations.
While computers have made the calculation of horoscopes quick and convenient, something essential has often been lost: the quiet observation and contemplation that once formed an intimate connection between the astrologer and the movements of the heavens.
SkyView Astrology returns to the real constellations as they can be observed in the sky, combining this ancient perspective with a computer program developed in 1992 that makes this approach accessible in a practical way.
In modern Western astrology, people often identify themselves through statements such as “I am an Aries” or “I am a Leo.” These descriptions are usually based on the position of the Sun within the Tropical zodiac at the time of birth.
Yet the deeper purpose of astrology is not to define identity or predict the future, but to offer orientation — a symbolic map of the soul’s curriculum through human life.
Astrology reveals patterns, cycles, and potentials. Rather than placing a person into fixed definitions, it can support greater self-awareness, conscious choice, and a deeper innerstanding of one’s journey.
The zodiac can be understood as a living pattern — a blueprint of the evolutionary journey of life reflected in the starry sky. It mirrors the relationship between the microcosm and the macrocosm, between individual human experience and the greater movement of the Universe.
Life unfolds within a field of possibilities, and how we move through this field depends greatly on our level of awareness and consciousness.
When people strongly identify with statements such as “I am a Leo” or “I am a Virgo,” astrology can unintentionally become limiting rather than liberating. As creative beings, we naturally tend to express and reinforce what we believe ourselves to be. Generalized predictions and fixed identities can therefore narrow perception instead of expanding it.
What was once regarded as a royal science — and is referred to here as SkyView Astrology — is not meant to confine, but to offer orientation and greater freedom. It serves as a guide to the quality of time and the deeper patterns moving through human life.
With this awareness, there is less need to struggle or move blindly into obstacles. Instead, we can begin to recognize the underlying patterns of our journey and respond to them with greater clarity. As consciousness deepens, our relationship to life experience also changes.
Modern Tropical Astrology systems are based on a zodiac framework aligned with the sky approximately 2000 years ago and no longer reflect the actual visible positions of the constellations in today’s sky.
SkyView Astrology returns to the real constellations as they can be directly observed, reconnecting astrology with the living sky and the quality of time expressed through it.
Tropical/Western astrology is based on the seasonal cycle of the northern hemisphere, and the symbolic meanings of the signs are closely connected to these seasonal qualities.
When this system is applied in the southern hemisphere — where the seasons are reversed — this correspondence no longer reflects the lived experience of nature. For example, the sign of Leo, associated with the fullness of summer in the north, occurs during winter in countries such as Australia or South Africa.
The star constellations, however, can be understood as primordial archetypal patterns that are not bound to seasonal cycles. They reflect a much greater cosmic movement and offer insight into the unique curriculum of each individual life.
As the position of the equinox slowly shifts over long periods of time, we can observe that the constellations belong to a far greater cycle than the limited time frame of a single human life. They point toward the larger journey of the soul moving through human experience.
Over many years, I have received countless confirmations that this approach works — that the alignment with the quality of time is both accurate and meaningful.
Again and again, it became visible how clearly certain phases unfolded within a person’s life: times of expansion and opportunity, periods of structure and reduction, moments of release, and phases of receiving and integration.
In this way, it becomes possible to recognize what I call the “seasons of consciousness.”
When these phases are understood, a person can begin to cooperate with time rather than resist it.
SkyView Astrology does not predict events. It reveals the quality of time.
About the 13th sign
This book also includes further insights into the 13th sign. While I briefly mentioned it in the first edition, it was not the right time then to explore it more deeply. The transition to working with the real star constellations already represented a significant shift.
More than three decades of research and practical experience have shown me — and many clients for whom I have done readings — that SkyView Astrology reflects a cosmic framework reaching far beyond the evolution of planet Earth. It includes the entire solar system, making it possible to create charts from the perspective of other planets and explore the quality of time from there. SkyView Astrology is therefore not limited solely to Earth.
At the same time, I am aware that we cannot fully comprehend the alpha and omega of existence while still experiencing reality through the limitations of human consciousness. From our home planet Earth — Mother Gaia — SkyView Astrology reflects the curriculum of life and the evolutionary journey of all living forms expressed through the birth chart.
Astrology is not a Fortune-Telling Tool
According to the SkyView approach, the natal chart reveals the blueprint of the curriculum of our lives. Through methods such as transits and progressions, it becomes possible to observe how this curriculum unfolds within linear time and to recognize the quality of time moving through a person’s life.
The chart does not predict fixed events. Rather, it reveals periods in which certain movements are more naturally supported — times for building, expansion, release, integration, or new beginnings.
When we begin to innerstand the quality of time, life can be approached with greater awareness and less resistance. Instead of struggling against the current, we learn to move more consciously with the unfolding rhythm of life itself.
The Healing Properties of SkyView Astrology
The SkyView Astrology chart is one of the greatest gifts we can receive, because it allows us to become conscious participants in our own lives.
Within each human being exists an inner blueprint — a living memory carrying the patterns, potentials, challenges, and experiences connected to the soul’s journey. From the moment we take our first breath, this blueprint gradually begins to unfold throughout the course of life.
The natal chart can be understood as a symbolic mirror of this inner design. It reveals the quality of time and the deeper patterns moving through our lives, helping us to navigate our journey with greater awareness and clarity.
In this way, SkyView Astrology becomes more than a system of interpretation. It becomes a tool for consciousness, self-recognition, and healing.
Mercury – The representative of the human personality
One of the most important differences between conventional Western astrology and what my research has revealed is that the Sun does not represent the human personality, but pure consciousness — the inner light.
Mercury, on the other hand, reflects the human being expressing through mind, communication, perception, and creation. Through Mercury, consciousness becomes thought, language, and manifestation within the physical world.
In this understanding, we are not separate from the Divine, but participants in creation itself — receiving, processing, and expressing consciousness through human experience.
