These videos are by the fans, for the fans, while contributing to the band and record label's success and bottom line.
I currently work 2 jobs (approx 50-55h weeks).
Video remastering projects are done unpaid and as a passion project on top of this, for the fans, and the band.
This work is only possible due to the below:
- I use only genuine software that costs me real money (Adobe PremirePro, Photoshop, Magix Vegas Post, Magix Vegas Deep Learning Processor, Topaz AI Collection) on a high performance computer [GPU was $3000AUD alone]
- A 20GB 1080p BR Source can expand to over 1TB in lossless video data in only a few processing passes while I am working on the remaster.
- I have bought a number of high volume SSDs specifically for the remaster workflow.
- Single AI Rendering passes (4K60) can take 12-15 hours and consume approx 400-500W constant GPU load alone - this is all power I must pay for.
- Some videos require 7 or 8 passes.
While I certainly enjoy doing this work - as you can see, it does have a real cost for me, and not just extra hours of time.
