I've done a bit of exploring with you and Connie and I've really enjoyed it. As well, I enjoy sharing information with you and in return I learn a lot about local Alberta history. Thank you!

Let's talk about Sectionmen and their houses for another minute...
I was working on my family history and found my late Uncle Jack in the 1916 Canada census, on the pages for "Townships 17 and 18, ranges 23, 24 and 25, W. 4. M., including the Village of Vulcan."
There was Uncle Jack (aged 3 at the time), living with his parents and 8 sibilings in (you guessed it) the Vulcan Section House. His father's occupation is listed as Sectionman. His name was Allan Abram Brink, so now we know at least one of them :)
I had no idea what a Section House was, nor what a Section man did until Google led me to your pages, so thanks for that!
Google also found a painting titled " STATION SECTION HOUSE & SHED VULCAN" (see it and more details at https://www.mutualart.com/Artwork/STATION-SECTION-HOUSE---SHED-VULCAN/29125A48D11369AC)
Enjoy your coffee, and thanks again!
