Hey Wokers 👋 Thank you for supporting the Dontbebrokebewoke podcast and my other free content.
After losing my job, my apartment and eventually my car in a span of 4 months, I realize I needed to make some drastic changes. Never in my life was I ever in a such dire financial situation before. I knew that I had no one to blame by myself, I also knew that I could not just sit around and feel sorry for myself. I HAD to act.
So after finally getting a new job, I decided I would improve my relationship with money so that I never find myself in this situation again. And it all started by understanding that I could live on a $40k salary. Yep, this was back in 2014 so not too long ago. It was not easy but I made it work, and it was important that I learned this because my goal was to continue to get promoted and make more money. I understood from my past, that making more money that did not mean a better life unless I became financially literate. It took a while but I read books, I downloaded apps that helped me budget, I did not borrow unless I absolutely had to and after 2 years I was back in a place where I had extra money to do what I wanted.
HOWEVER, like every journey, you learn more things along the way. My new lesson was: how can you use your money to make you more money? Again, I read books, watched videos, used apps and investing became my obsession. And after 4 years, I was able to save/invest over $200K.
My purpose now is to help others! Most of us want financial freedom, but we are told to save our money and we can retire at 65. What if that thought process is outdated? What if I told you that retirement is not an age, it's a number? I want to help anyone willing to be help with achieving financial independence and create their path to wealth creation.
Who is with me in leaving their broke days behind to be woke?
PS. I love pizza so thank you for feeding me in advance :)
